The product description notes “String the buttons together to make your own Christmas ornaments” so I thought it would be simple craft to do with my nieces. Well it wasn’t so simple since glue is needed in two steps. We tried regular glue at first, but it did not hold well so we had to use a glue gun.The instructions are:

1) String all of the buttons onto the chenille stem in an alternating pattern.
2) Once all buttons are strung, twist the two ends of the chenille stem together several times to secure.
3) To make the hanger, tie ends of the satin cording together to create a knot and glue the knot to the twisted chenille stem.
4) Turn the wreath over and glue the pre-tied bow to the twisted chenille stem.

Please make sure to supervise children when working on this craft as the small pieces are a choking hazard.

I got these for a holiday craft project at my Church. Easy enough for kids to put together and substantial enough that they felt they had made something significant. I would recommend having a glue gun handy to attach the bows as it is much easier than any kind of glue that has to dry. Only complaint is that the ribbon provided is not really long enough to handle easily. I improvised by turning the excess pipe cleaner into a loop instead of trimming and discarding.

Awesome, awesome, awesome! Easy to use, separated into individual ornaments therefore quite easy to stop and start and separate between multiple children. This craft was great for both my 3.5 year old (her dexterity and teeny fingers make many threading crafts impossible), yet my 6+ year old (who is doing many activities for the 10+ age range without assistance) was not overly bored. GREAT for our annual ornaments this year. The price is fantastic for the number of ornaments and for the quality of the kit alone, BUT my kids can do this with minimal instruction and assistance as well – which makes it worth twice this!
